CIPMUSA CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING

It is possible to obtain credit toward completion of one or more CIPM USA COURSES for previous education or experiential learning but such CIPM USA CREDIT IS RARE.

Credit for Prior Education Achieved
Any MEMBER student wishing to claim prior educational credit for a course or courses completed at a college or university, must submit evidence of this achievement by requesting a transcript be sent directly to CIPM USA WORLD HEADQUARTERS. For example, if you previously studied a course in PROJECT MANAGEMENT and passed it, submit evidence of this. If acceptable, you shall be given prior credit for the CIPM USA PROJECT MANAGEMENT COURSE but there is a $75 evaluation fee.

Credit for Learning Achieved through Experiential or Work Related Achievement
Only serious MEMBER students with outstanding resumes and work achievements should request that a CIPM USA COURSE be waived by CIPM USA with full credit granted the student applicant. Evidence of work duties and how they are compatible with course instruction must be provided. For example, if the student is the director of marketing of a widget manufacture, eligibility for prior credit may apply, canceling the student’s need for the CIPM USA MARKETING COURSE, etc. The evaluation fee is $75.

Prior Learning Assessor Qualifications
Members seeking credit for prior educational or experiential job based learning toward CIPM USA Courses should know that CIPM USA relies entirely upon the assessment of professionals who hold both a Certificate of Professional Achievement as a Prior Learning Assessor and a Certificate of Mastery in Prior Learning Assessment from The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), the recognized pioneer of PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT.

Since its founding in 1974, under the auspices of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, New Jersey, CAEL has been providing colleges and universities, not-for-profit organizations, companies, labor organizations and state and local governments with the tools and strategies they need for creating practical, effective lifelong learning solutions.
